Program Overview: This course was recorded during the 2015 WOCN Annual Conference and will provide a review of ostomy content to prepare individuals to sit for the WOCNCB Ostomy certification exam. Upon successful completion of this educational program, the learner should be able to:
Describe the physiological results of ostomy surgery.
Discuss implications for rehabilitation in the person undergoing ostomy surgery.
Determine potential early and late complications of ostomy surgery.
Develop a plan for managing the care of a person with a tube, drain or fistul.
