Tina Meyers MBA, BSN, CWOCN

Tina has been a Registered Nurse for 20 years and has been a Certified WOC nurse for 15 years. She received her Bachelor’s of Nursing from Prairie View A & M and her Master’s in Business Administration from Texas Women’s University. She gained the majority of her wound care training at the Hyperbaric Wound Care Center in Conroe, Texas. Currently Tina is developing a Certified Nursing Assistant Program for the New Caney School District where her focus is prevention of pressure ulcers. She is also collaborating with the “Doctors Group of Conroe” developing a program to incorporate wound and ostomy management for Skilled Nursing Patients. Prior to her current positions, Tina served as WOC nurse District Manager for Harris Health System, a large hospital district, where she developed a Skin Care Program comprised of diverse health care disciplines. There she was able to reduce and sustain pressure ulcer incident rates from 15% to < 1.5 % throughout the district.

Tina has been alert to preventing pressure ulcers for over 15 years and has focused her research efforts on eliminating pressure ulcers to the heels. She has completed research projects on prevention of heel ulcers and plantar flexion contractures through Case Studies and Randomized Controlled studies. She has also published in the Journal of WOCN and other professional journals. She enjoys lecturing at local, national and international levels and plans to continue her charge in reducing pressure ulcers.
