Virginia Sun PhD, RN

Dr. Virginia Sun is an assistant professor in the Division of Nursing Research and Education at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles. She has been an oncology nurse researcher and with training as an oncology nurse practitioner for over 15 years. Dr. Sun’s clinical and research expertise is focused on symptom management, supportive care, and quality of life in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary cancers. She was principal investigator of several funded projects since 2005 that described symptoms and overall QOL in patients with colorectal, pancreatic, and primary liver cancers. Dr. Sun received her master’s in nursing from Yale University and her PhD in nursing from the University of California, Los Angeles.
