Hez Naylor PhDc, FNP-BC, AP-PMN

Senior Nurse Practitioner & Faculty Chair, St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center and Creighton University

Hez Naylor, PhDc, MSN, FNP-BC, FAIPM, is Senior Nurse Practitioner of the inpatient pain medicine consultation service at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center and Faculty Chair of the Accelerated Nursing Program at Creighton University’s Phoenix Campus. She is a licensed and board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Certified Advanced Practice Pain Management Nurse, and a Fellow of the Academy of Integrative Pain Management.

Hez is a national speaker in her areas of expertise including multimodal pain management for the care of complex pain patients, acute-on-chronic pain, and preemptive analgesia and prevention of chronic pain syndromes after surgery. In the classroom, she teaches Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, and Leadership. She is a member of the American Academy of Pain Management, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the American Psychotherapy and Medical Hypnosis Association.

Hez received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Creighton University in Nebraska, and then completed her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Grand Canyon University. She is currently a PhD candidate at University of Missouri-Columbia studying nursing language interventions for pain.

Hez lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her four-year-old daughter Charlotte and dog Blanca, loves playing music and being active outdoors whenever possible, and recently hiked the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim in a day!
