Michelle Barakat-Johnson PhD, RN

Michelle is the Executive Skin Integrity Lead for Sydney Local Health District, an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney and an Honorary Associate Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Queensland University.

Michelle specialises in skin integrity, implementation science and pressure injury prevention. She is currently the lead investigator of several funded studies improving outcomes for people with wounds. Michelle was awarded the Medal for Research Excellence at the University of Sydney 2020 and the Nursing and Midwifery Innovation award 2019 for her program of work on wounds and implementation science. She has recently joined the editorial board of JWOCN.
