Neurological Disorders affect patients across the lifespan. Parkinson's Disease is a degenerative process affecting older persons while spinal cord injury is acute and affects mostly younger individuals. This session will compare and contrast how both disorders manifest in and alter the integumentary, gastrointestinal and genitourinary systems. Implications for WOC nursing are described.

The objective of this session is to illustrate the female pelvic anatomy and explore the different methods of performing a comprehensive female pelvic exam. Specifically focusing on anatomic abnormalities that may change the treatment plan and when radiologic scans may be necessary. Pharmacologic treatment for common pelvic floor complaints including vaginal estrogen therapy will also be reviewed.

With the increasing awareness of underlying conditions that promote wound chronicity, non-healing wounds continue to challenge clinicians. Finding effective, yet economical, treatments for these stalled, nonhealing wounds remains a priority. Expert speakers will share the latest clinical and scientific understandings of the role that complex wound bioburden plays in delayed healing, followed by real world experience with a new and innovative antimicrobial dressing clinically shown to facilitate progression of wounds toward healing.
