Slow Down: Management of the High Output Ileostomy

Date: August 19, 2020

Time: 01:00PM - 02:00PM

You must be registered to participate!

High-output ileostomy care can be a challenge, regardless of the care setting. Involving the individual, the individual’s significant other(s) as well as an interdisciplinary health care team is imperative for appropriate care management. This webinar seeks to provide a richer knowledge of the pathophysiology of the gastrointestinal system, specific signs and symptoms to help identify when acute medical care is needed, and some preventative and management strategies. Pharmacological care will be included.

Learning Outcomes:

Learners will report increased confidence in their knowledge of complications associated with high output ileostomies and ability to apply management strategies, and/or 80% of learners will report at least one preventative management strategy for high output ileostomies [in the open-ended question in the evaluation about what they plan to do differently].
