Session Description: Patients at risk for pressure ulcers are often the same patients for whom safe patient handling is needed. A momentary choice of whether to move a patient alone or wait for help can lead to serious injury. However, the majority of injuries are repeated microtears of the soft tissue leading to long term pain and even disability. This session will discuss how wise choices in equipment can permit the patient to be moved and reduce harm to you and your staff.
Objectives: At the end of this webinar, the participants will be able to:
Discuss how pressure ulcer prevention can be accomplished without leading repeated microtrauma to the care givers
