Session Description: WOC nursing has witnessed first-hand the impact of change in healthcare. As our country moves forward with a value based purchasing model, the ripple effect of cost containment and cost avoidance has hit our supply closets. It’s no longer ‘business as usual’ when it comes to wound/ostomy/continence product choices. It is incumbent upon us to understand how to collaborate on the purchasing side of our organizations, learn new strategies, and position ourselves offensively for success. This program will give some ideas on how to appropriately represent WOC supply needs at the Value Analysis table and speak with a voice that can be heard.
Learning Objectives: At the end of this webinar, the participants will be able to:
Describe the Value Analysis process.
Identify at least 2 behaviors that influence success in negotiating/collaborating with Value Analysis.
Discuss the attributes of Emotional Intelligence and how it relates to the role of the WOC nurse.
