Maintaining healthy feet is paramount for all people during their lifetime, but critical for older adults and persons with conditions that can affect foot health. A foot and toenail clinic assists in preventing foot complications as well as encouraging participation in health maintenance by enhancing patient knowledge. This session addresses foot and toenail clinic development and maintenance including: clinic location/configuration, policies and procedures, financial/budgetary considerations, billing and reimbursement, equipment and supplies, staffing and staff education, marketing, documentation, and patient satisfaction and outcomes. Information offered will enhance knowledge in the development and maintenance of a foot and toenail clinic where assessment, routine foot care, education, and treatment interventions are provided to support overall foot health for at risk patients.
