Program Overview: Not all blisters are benign! Some blisters/bullae can signify and underlying autoimmune skin disease. The purpose of this activity is to equip the learner with knowledge essential for the assessment patients presenting with bulla/blisters and developing differential diagnosis for autoimmune blistering diseases. We will discuss systemic conditions and risk factors associated with AIBDs, as well as, pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic approaches for treatment.
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this educational program, the learner should be able to:
Define Autoimmune Blistering Diseases (ABDs).
Describe the key characteristics of autoimmunite blistering disease and diagnostic tests essential for the differential diagnosis of AIBDs.
