Program Overview: This course will prepare individuals to sit for the WOCNCB ostomy certification exam. Topics addressed during this session include common ostomy types and alternate procedures, including their indications and management, and case studies to demonstrate real world applications.

Upon successful completion of this educational program, the learner should be able to:
Describe the physiological results of ostomy surgery.
Discuss implications for rehabilitation in the person undergoing ostomy surgery.
Determine potential early and late complications of ostomy surgery.
Develop a plan for managing the care of a person with a tube, drain or fistul.
