The use
of sub-atmospheric pressure (Negative Pressure Wound Therapy or NPWT) to
promote or assist wound healing is well established in contemporary wound
care. Safety issues and clinically effective use are ongoing issues along
with cost. This symposium will discuss the evidence base of NPWT, its
mechanisms of action, and clinical imperatives. Evidence-based algorithms for
NPWT use will be presented.
