Jun 22, 2014 11:30am ‐ Jun 22, 2014 1:00pm

Standard: $20.00

Description

The journey of convexity products (history) and the convexity panel to date. Illustrate the core purpose, deliverables, evidence with the development of the new Patient Assessment Guide and the validation results. This overall journey is to fit with the overall conference theme. The journey could include the journey from lack of evidence supporting the use of convexity to what we now have today – evidence based practice as well as the product journey. We will have validation results for the guide – a first in stoma care – that is not commercial in nature but more academic. This can be promoted quite strongly. The ongoing journey can be then referenced as to what needs to still happen as it should reference a continuation.

Objectives:

  1. Describe critical components required for a focused patient assessment that enables the clinician to identify the appropriate barrier shape for a patient
  2. Utilize the kappa testing methodology to determine the reliability of the guide

Speaker(s):

  • Jo Hoeflok, RN, BSN, MA, CETN(C), CGN(C), Consultant in Enterostomal Therapy Nursing, Self-employed
  • Paris Purnell, RN, STN
