Description

Deep tissue injury is a unique form of pressure ulcers. Cellular deformation with and without ischemia lead to the problem, however it can be hard to identify. There are many skin conditions that present as purple intact tissue. This session will update you on the latest research on DTI formation and provide you with the tools to make certain you know DTI when you see it.

Objectives

  • Describe advances in the science of Deep Tissue Injury Development.
  • Describe the differential diagnosis and diagnostic methods available for establishing a sDTI diagnosis, and management options used to prevent or treat sDTI.
