This session will present an overview of these neonatal problems and outline strategies used by pediatric WOC nurses to attain the goals of wound and ostomy care. Interventions include use of various wound and ostomy care products and, more often, how to adapt these products for use in the neonatal patient. Often creativity, patience, and thinking “outside the box” is required, since many products are not well designed or sized for these tiny patients. Creative troubleshooting strategies will be presented through complicated case scenarios.
