Description
This session will examine the complexity of wound infection with a focus on the role of the advanced practice provider. Topics covered will include common bacteriologic causes, signs and symptoms, and treatment options including pharmacologic management.

Learning Objectives:

  • The attendee can differentiate between a critically colonized wound and an infected wound.
  • The attendee will be able recommend topical/systemic pharmacologic/non-pharmacologic interventions to manage the critically colonized/infected wound.
