Description
Despite tremendous advances in product development and increased availability of WOC nursing expertise, current studies indicate that up to 75% of ostomy patients develop painful PERISTOMAL skin breakdown that significantly and negatively impacts their quality of life. This session will focus on guidelines for assuring optimal FIT and FORMULATION of the skin barrier/pouching system, and technological advances designed to enhance peristomal skin health and reduce risk of breakdown.
