Within a large, multi-facility hospital system, the WOC nurse has a golden opportunity to provide a voice driven by outcomes and evidence. This course provides the learner with a case study of collaboration among WOC nurses across Beaumont Hospitals. There, the WOC Advisory Group was started to coordinate best practices, streamline formulary and to have a forum for Wound Ostomy and Continence Certified nurses. This process allowed the system to standardize products, practices, and policies.
Learning Objective: The Learner will be empowered to collaborate with other WOCs in their system, work with their purchasing group to apply the evidence in hospital/system formulary decision making.
