Commit to Fit: Considerations for Ostomy Skin Barrier Selection

Oct 3, 2020 11:55am ‐ Oct 3, 2020 1:10pm

Credits: None available.

Standard: Free

The barrier on an ostomy pouch is the critical element that provides for both skin protection and a secure seal. Selection of an appropriate barrier must be based on assessment of the patient's stomal height, os location, abdominal contours, type and volume of output, and skin characteristics. This session will provide clear guidelines for selection of the best barrier and pouching system for an individual patient.
