Program Overview:
Throughout the world, use of telemedicine in chronic wound management is associated with lower cost of care, shorter healing time, and fewer foot amputations and office visits. However, in the United States, telemedicine remains underutilized in wound care, due to reimbursement complexities and/or burdensome technological requirements. To address these obstacles, one facility developed an easy-to-use, wound care-specific telemedicine software to help clinicians quickly incorporate reimbursable telemedicine services in their practice. This session will describe how they did it.

The information in this session reflects the best understanding of the information available as of November 21, 2020. You are encouraged to monitor regulation updates pertaining to telehealth in wound care that occur after this date.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this session, the learner will report in the post-activity evaluation, increased confidence in their ability to describe the different types of reimbursable telehealth services; and to discuss the implementation process of workflow design to activation of a telehealth system.
