The prevalence of skin tears is still high. However, consolidated and evidence-based guidelines for skin tears assessment and management are limited. Therefore, International Skin Tear Advisory Panel ( ISTAP) has developed the International Best Practice recommendations for skin tear assessment and management. Yet many nurses are unaware of this newly updated recommendation.
By the end of this session, learners will report increased confidence in their ability to identify skin tear types using the International Skin Tear Advisory Panel (ISTAP) skin tear classification.
The planners and faculty for this session reported the following relationships with commercial interest organizations. This presentation was reviewed to ensure no bias was present.
