Program Overview: The Covid-19 pandemic has had resounding impact on the health system, both national and international. Financial stress and health care obstacles have affected households across America. With little time for planning or best practices development, WOC nurses were providing care for wound, ostomy, continence challenged patients in novel albeit stressful conditions. This session will discuss the impact of Covid-19 on the American population, discuss innovations growing out of the pandemic, and discuss clinical implications for future ostomy care delivery and clinician self-care needs.
Learning Outcomes: Following this activity, learners will report [in the post-activity evaluation] changes they intend to make to their practice as it pertains to the impact of Covid-19 on WOC nursing care delivery focusing on ostomy care and associated clinical and self-care implications.
