Program Overview
This session will provide a review of skin development, including discussion on the characteristics of preterm infant skin. The speaker will discuss cleansing, topical skin care and prevention of pressure injuries in this unique patient population. At the end of the session the learner will have increased understanding of the skin care needs of this patient population and selecting safe products to use on neonatal skin.
Learning Outcome: Following this activity, the learner will report increased confidence in selecting safe products to use on neonatal skin.
