Program Overview
New ostomates experience a variety of needs as they heal from surgery and transition across care settings. Whether practicing inpatient, at a clinic, or in the home, the WOC nurse provides valuable support in moving patients toward independence. This session provides information for the learner on how we can work together to promote optimal outcomes.
Learning Outcome:
Following this activity, the learner will report increased confidence in helping new ostomy patients navigate their needs across different practice settings to help promote independence in their own care.
