Skin damage, or wounds, can be differentiated into partial and full thickness injuries. Understanding the key assessment factors and healing process for these different injuries is helpful in determining the cause of the injury, the treatment and prevention. Common skin injuries caused by moisture, friction and shear will be reviewed.
