Program Overview This course provides clinicians guidelines for the early detection and interventions of pressure injuries specific to patients with darker skin color. The authors describe how they utilized the Plan-Do-Study-Act cycle to create a process improvement project targeting bedside staff regarding dark skin tone assessment. This bite-size learning presentation is an invaluable clinical tool to help prevent and identify pressure injuries in patients with darker skin tones.
Learning Outcome: The learner will report increased confidence in assessing skin injuries in patients with darker skin tones.
