Program Overview
This course provides insight into pouching considerations for the pediatric population, focusing on management strategies & techniques to address challenging peristomal characteristics. Through an in-depth case study of a multifactorial pouching dilemma encountered for a patient with complex care needs, this session guides the participant through a systematic trial & error process, leading to an ultimately successful regimen & positive outcome for the patient & family.
Learning Outcome:
Following the completion of this course, the learner will report their intention to use the management strategies reviewed during the activity to address complex pediatric ostomy pouching challenges.
