Program Overview
This course describes the development of a protocol for the identification and classification of acute skin failure in the adult critical care population through collaboration of the WOC nurse team and physician colleagues as part of a hospital acquired pressure injury prevention task force. Through this quality improvement project, a defined set of criteria were used to differentiate acute skin failure from hospital acquired pressure injury.
Learning Outcome: Following the completion of this course, the learner will report how they intend to use the acute skin failure classification criteria in their practice.
