Kate Lawrence is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and a Wound Ostomy and Continence nurse in Rutland Vermont where she practices the full scope of WOC nurse practice. Kate has been a certified CWOCN for over 29 years. Currently Kate is based in home health at the VNA and Hospice of the Southwest Region, Rutland Vermont. She is the program director of the Wound Ostomy and Continence services and provides care via contract to home health and long-term care, subacute rehab and community care homes. Her previous experience included working for the Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland Vermont where she co-developed the acute care WOC nursing service and the outpatient Wound Ostomy and Continence clinic. Kate has been active in the Wound Ostomy and Continence Society, serving proudly as Past President of the New England Region, a Member of the WOCN Board of Directors as a Director and WOCN President (2011-2013). She chaired the WOCN Scope and Standards update task force and serves as the WOCN Public Policy and Advocacy Coordinator. Kate is a graduate of Russell Sage College of Nursing and the University of Vermont School of Nursing.
