As an Certified Ostomy Care Nurse (COCN), Dinah Herrick found that the elderly partners of the ostomy patients with bladder/CRC diagnosis, surgery, and ostomy have different lived experiences compared to other younger adults and this phenomenon lead her to her research study. The findings of her study may serve as the foundation for future studies to improve the care of the elderly partners of ostomates with a bladder and/or CRC.
