Christine Berke MSN APRN-NP CWOCN-AP is a Nurse Practitioner in the Wound Ostomy & Burn Service Section at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. She is one of the primary providers in the Wound, Ostomy and Burn Clinic and has been instrumental in expanding the outpatient services there in the past 10 years. She is currently the Secretary on the Board for the Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse Society. She previously completed a 5 year volunteer term on the Advanced Practice Exam Committee of the WOCNCB, serving as chair the for 2 years. During this tenure, she helped to develop, write and launch the 3 inaugural exams for Advanced Practice nurses in the fields of wound, ostomy and continence nursing. She has been a nurse for 36 years, a WOC nurse for 18 years and an APRN for 11 years. She is the Task Force Chair for Redefining the Role of the Continence Nurse since 2017. She has published on the topic of Friction Injuries in JWOCN and presented on this same topic at SAWC Fall conference in 2015, the NPUAP Research Symposium Fall 2016, the National WOCN conference in Salt Lake City, May 2017 and numerous regional conferences on this topic and others related to WOC nursing in the past 18 years.
