Carole Bauer MSN, RN, ANP-BC, OCN, CWOCN has been a certified WOC nurse since 1997. As an active member of the society, she is passionate about the development and empowerment of WOC nurses and the WOCN Society. This has motivated her to seek various roles with the WOCN society including member at large with the board of directors, member of the ostomy committee, scholarship committee chair, and scope and standards task force member. As a member of various work groups with the society and through her own work, she has seen the growth of the WOC nurse as it is now reflected in the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice 2nd Edition 2018. Her greatest ambition is to share the work of the WOC nurse as reflected in the new standards with those seeking to be WOC nurses.
