Stephanie Yates holds a Bachelors degree in Nursing from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, and a Masters degree in Nursing from Duke University with a primary focus in adult oncology. She received specialty training in the field of wound, ostomy and continence care nursing, completing the Wound Ostomy & Continence Nursing Education Program at Emory University. Stephanie continued her formal education, completing a Post Masters certificate as an adult nurse practitioner at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
Practicing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in acute care for over 15 years, oncology patients were a major part of her practice. In addition to inpatient care, she was also affiliated with the Rex Cancer Center, seeing patients with a myriad of skin related issues.
Stephanie has also practiced in home health, long term care and an outpatient wound clinic. In her current position, with a combined role of Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nurse Practitioner, she sees patients throughout the Duke Cancer Center, in all stages of treatment and survival, with wound, ostomy and continence problems.
