Executive Director, Canadian Association for Enterostomal Therapy ( CAET)

Catherine has served as the Executive Director for the Canadian Association for Enterostomal Therapy (CAET) for the past eleven years and was also the first Executive Director for the Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada (ORNAC) for 5 years. She led both CAET and ORNAC through a strategic planning process which included the writing of articles of continuance and re writing of the association by-laws to align with the new Canada Not for Profit Act. Catherine was published in the February 2015 JWOCN on CAET Governance and the journey to achieve continuance with Industry Canada.


Past experience includes serving as the Director of Global Strategic Marketing, Wound Care Core Business for ConvaTec division of Bristol-Myers Squibb in Skillman, New Jersey. As an International Healthcare Consultant, she facilitated strategic business planning for the Board of Directors of the World Council of Enterostomal Therapists (WCET) in Hong Kong and Ostomy Canada Society, served as a Board advisor for the start- up of the Canadian Association of Wound Care, and is the Chair of Wound Care Alliance Canada. Cathy was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of Travel Alberta with a goal to improve Alberta’s services to healthcare organizations holding continuing education conferences. A Registered Nurse with a neurosurgical ICU clinical background, she completed the International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Course at the University of Toronto, studied post graduate business (Executive MBA) and also completed a post graduate certificate in Not for Profit Board Governance at Telfer School of Business, University of Ottawa. She is in the final stages of completing the CAET Nursing Leadership program based on the “Leads Framework of Leadership” which is recognized by the Canadian College of Health Leaders.
