Jennifer G. Powers MD

Assistant Professor of Dermatology

A native of Illinois, Jennifer G. Powers, MD, graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with a degree in the History of Science. She completed her medical training at Vanderbilt School of Medicine in 2008. Following an internship with Michigan State University, she completed a Dermatology Residency at Boston University, where she served as Chief Resident and trained in chronic wounds under Tania Phillips, MD. From 2012-2015, she was an Assistant Professor with the Division of Dermatology at Vanderbilt, where she looked at melanoma risk factors experienced in combat and engaged with medical students as an academic coach. In August 2015, she joined Duke Dermatology where she hopes to continue her interests in chronic wounds and the microbiome.
