Anita Meehan is a clinical nurse specialist at Cleveland Clinic Akron General she is board certified in the nursing specialties of both orthopedics and geriatrics. She has served as the President of the National Association of Orthopaedic Nursing (NAON) and was appointed a Fellow in the National Gerontological Nurses Association (NGNA). Anita is a founding member and ambassador of the International Collaboration of Orthopaedic Nursing and serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Orthopaedic and Trauma Nursing and the she is a member of the advisory board of directors Fragility Fracture Network and the nursing advisory board of the National Osteoporosis Foundation. In addition to this most recent research, ahe has participated in developed of several interdisciplinary quality improvement projects aimed at reducing pressure ulcers including a nurse driven protocol for indwelling urinary catheter management, nutrition with med pass and the progressive mobility protocol.
