Judi has over 40 years of pediatric nursing experience, spanning a variety of settings including primary care, tertiary care, advanced practice, and nursing management. Judi received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and her Masters’ Degree in Pediatric Nursing from Boston College, where she also received training as a pediatric nurse practitioner. She received her WOCN certification from LaSalle University. Judi’s Advanced Practice Nursing experience includes pediatric wound, ostomy and continence care, pressure injury care and prevention, care of the pediatric surgical, GI and trauma patient, and she published numerous articles and textbook chapters on these topics. She was the principal investigator at CHOP for the new Braden QD risk assessment scale development. In addition, Judi has presented both regionally and nationally on pediatric wound and ostomy topics. Judi has a long-time interest in caring for neonatal and pediatric patients with congenital anomalies and those with skin and wound concerns. Judi also provides consultation to a variety of organizations regarding pediatric wound and ostomy care, including the United Ostomy Association of America. Judi developed the Wound, Ostomy Program at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where she presently holds the position of Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse Practitioner.
