Diane Boyle, PhD, RN, FAAN, is the Wyoming Excellence Chair in Nursing and Professor at the Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing, University of Wyoming. She received her PhD in Nursing from the University of Kansas School of Nursing, Kansas City, KS.
Dr. Boyle was deputy director and co-principal investigator of the National Database of Quality Indicators® (NDNQI®) from 1994 to 2013. One of Dr. Boyle’s funded research streams is the relationship of RN specialty certification with patient outcomes. She has published research findings about specialty and patient outcomes in AORN Journal, Nursing Research, Journal of Nursing Administration, and Journal of Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing.
