Mrs. Denise Nix MS, RN, CWOCN

Denise Nix (also known as Dee Dee) has been an RN for 35 years and a Board Certified Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse Specialist for 29 years of practice in Minnesota Hospitals and Clinics. Her current clinical practice is at M Health Fairview. She received her Baccalaureate and Masters degrees in nursing from St. Catherine University and the University of Minnesota respectively. As a former associate director for the webWOC Nursing Education program at Metropolitan State University, Denise’s passion for education is evident with her authorships in journals, book chapters, and textbooks. Denise has authored chapters in all 3 core curriculums and is co editor of Acute and Chronic Wounds; Current Management Concepts, recipient of an American Journal of Nursing book of the year award and now in it’s 5th (going on 6th) Edition. Denise also serves as a litigations consultant, national and international speaker, and consultant for the Minnesota Hospital Association’s SAFE SKIN collaborative which involves over 100 Minnesota Hospitals.
