Dr. Marcia Barnes DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC, CWS, CPSN

Dr. Barnes has been a nurse for 40 years. She obtained her Associate degree fr om Western KY University, BSN from Tennessee State University, and a Masters and Doctorate from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She has held positions in numerous areas of practice including PACU, Ambulatory surgery, OR, ICU, and Med/Surg. She has provided wound care nearly her entire nursing career. She has been a Certified Wound Care specialist for over 10 years. She is an acute care nurse practitioner and was a member of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Vanderbilt and a member of the complex wound team for many years. She is currently an assistant professor at Cumberland University and teaches research health assessment, and adult health. She has lectured extensively on wounds and wound care and published numerous peer reviewed articles.
