Antoinette Towle Ed. D, PNP-BC, SNP-BC is an Associate Professor in the nursing department at Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven CT. USA. She is an American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) Board Certified Advanced Practiced Registered Nurse (APRN) in the specialty areas of Pediatric and School Health. Antoinette has worked as a professional nurse for over 30 years, in a variety of capacities (Administrator, Nursing Home Owner, Manager, Director, Case worker, APRN, RN, and Educator) and within a wide variety of healthcare setting (acute and chronic care hospitals, schools, residential settings for children, adolescents and the elderly, Veterans hospitals, Insurance companies, Federal and Privately funded medical offices and community healthcare agencies). Presently, teaching full time, graduate, accelerated, RN to BSN and undergraduate nursing students. Her specialty area is nursing leadership with a focus on teaching students to appreciate, understand, and apply effective leadership styles and skills, application of effective group dynamics, and to work collaboratively within our healthcare world. In addition to teaching Nursing Leadership, Antoinette has authored and published “Leadership and management for every nurse” for Western Schools Healthcare Continuing Education Company. A third edition of this book is in process with plans for publication in 2019. She has also published several articles and chapters in peer reviewed professional journals and books around enhancing nursing leadership and business skills, effective teaching strategies and curriculum redesign, developing effective critical thinking, and successful transition into the “real work world “of nursing practice.
