Ms. Karen Laforet RN, MCISs, VA-BC, CVAA (c), IIWCC

Karen is an accomplished nurse leader with over 30 years of healthcare experience in critical care, community care, industry, and academia. She has a Master’s in Clinical Science—Wound Healing from Western University and is recognized globally as an expert in infusion therapy and skin & wound care management. She is Canadian Certified in Community Health Nursing (CCHN (C)), certified in Canadian Vascular Access (CVAA (C)) and board certified in vascular access (VA-BC™) and currently completing the NSWOC program.

She is a part-time faculty member for Western University in the Masters Advanced Health Care Practice program, faculty at York University’s Health Leadership & Learning Network Program with a focus on Infusion therapy and medication safety, committee member for the College of Nurses, and Board Member for the Canadian Vascular Access Association (CVAA). Karen is a published author, international speaker and a peer reviewer for a number of clinical journals.
