Welcome to the OCA Course
The Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society™ (WOCN®) developed the Ostomy Care Associate (OCA) Program as a continuing education program to further empower wound, ostomy and continence (WOC) specialty nurses and to improve patient outcomes by enhancing their ostomy team. The OCA Program prepares non-specialty nurses to provide optimal ostomy care.
If you are a WOC nurse who would like to bring the OCA Program to your health care setting, please click on the blue button in the top right corner to apply to be an OCA Course Coordinator. You can also click that button to apply to be a Clinical Skills Instructor.
If you are interested in enrolling in the OCA program, please speak with your WOC nurse about becoming an approve OCA Course Coordinator. If your facility does not have a WOC nurse, you can refer to the OCA Facilities Near You web page for a list of programs in which you can enroll.
Before you conduct a course, the person or institution purchasing the license must complete a legal agreement and submit it to the WOCN Society. Blank license agreements are emailed to all Course Coordinators when their applications are approved.
After being approved as a Course Coordinator, the next step is to purchase the Program License, for a fee of $2,500. This three-year license will allow the course coordinator to enroll up to 100 students in the OCA Program. To purchase this license, add it to your cart by clicking on the blue button at the top right of the screen. You will then see the course appear in your cart at the very top of the page. From there, you may check out and pay.
In addition to the program license, another $150 fee is charged for each participant that is enrolled in the program. Further instructions for purchasing participant licenses are available to Course Coordinators.

If you have been approved to offer OCA Program and have purchased a license or are a participant that has been invited by your Course Coordinator, click on the Start Program button at the top right of the page. That will bring you to a list of all modules available through the course, which you can click to view. The modules must be viewed in order.
You may also access the course by clicking on My Account at the top of the page, and then selecting My Courses from the menu on the left side of the page. You must be logged in to view the course.
